I’m paid to make girls panic while I sing
So a long while back I wrote about how I am not capable of taking peoples advice on music and need to find out about bands myself (I was talking about In Flames at the time). It is a peculiar disorder I’ve diagnosed as being a jerk. Another case occurred today at work. A while back Mark, King of Media Pirating, asked if I had any Brand New in the midst of pillaging my cd collection. I didn’t think I did at the time, but this morning I stumbled over Déja Entendu and brought it to work to give it a listen, prior to making the handoff to Mark.
It turns out this is the band Dave was telling me about (or at least I think they are), whose lead singer grew up, or went to high school with the guy from Taking Back Sunday. I am fairly confident that this is accurate as I remember Dave was quite pumped to show Mike and me that the two bands share lyrics (or did on one occasion). I’ll be damned if I can find the two songs on here, or be bothered to look it up on the internet, but I thought it was pretty damn cool at the time. I’m assuming that is why I got this cd.
So I think the point of this post was to give Dave credit for introducing me to Brand New way back when, because I now enjoy listening to them.
Thanks Dave (and Mike for allowing me to get the cd off him back then).

SEEEEEEEE!
hehe just kidding... It's hard to appreciate music on the first listen I'd say. Anyway, the songs are "seventy times 7" by brand new. (off their old "your favorite weapon" disk) and "There's no I in team" by taking back sunday.
on the subject, i'd say that my favorite weapon has some of the most bitter lyrics I have ever heard... and this after my all emo diet since about 2000. Worth a listen anyway, if you can get past the highschool punk sound.
Later.
deja entendu sucks, cept for sic transit...
i had that album before it came out, but u never respect my musical decisions
listen for the love of god to From Ashes Rise krusty... they will blow your mind.. a song called "Reaction" thats' their best. and then there was some other band i wanted you to listen to but i can't remember.
