I ain’t part of no conspiracy, I’m just your average Joe

I have two months off this summer, which is to be used for studying and taking my education seriously. This will likely mean significant time in front of a computer, doing work that isn’t really very hard. I have decided that to make the most of this time I am going to be making some serious mix-tapes. I haven’t spent any actual time making a mix since back in the track days with Mike. My goal this summer is to come up with a mix-tape that accurately reflects each year of my life since Grade 9. This may be a lofty goal, because god knows my memory is pretty garbage, but I think I may be able to do it.

I even remembered how much I liked these two songs. Good for me. Hell, I even remember when Smashing Pumpkins were relevant, and I remember when the only album I listened to for probably 2 years was Punk in Drublic. That was the very first thing I downloaded on Napster, after Kelly took back the cd she lent me.

Peace.

If it doesn’t work out I’ll come home and be alone

I had a ridiculously good time in Vancouver, my thanks go out to Jon and Christina (and Brian to a lesser degree). As a result of this weekend I am now the proud owner of my very own mancala set. I also now own Watchmen and Scott Pilgrim vol.1, which are both fantastic reads.

This video cheered me up today, while I was dying a slow death at work. The guy playing is Jeremy Warmsley, a folk musician of sorts. I first hear this song on …good weather for airstrikes’ year-end list. I stole the video from Music For Kids Who Can’t Read Good. He completely manhandles that ukulele in this song. I’m unsure if the video is as good if you haven’t heard the original song, but I have so I think it is awesome.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Come visit me.

Oh yeah on a completely different note Leo hooked me up with some tracks from his new group Wine. Yes I just linked to a myspace page. Give that shit a listen. I like where Leo is going with this. He is also on tour (as evidenced by the tour dates on that myspace page no one checked out), and his last show in Saskatoon killed. I would recommend checking him out when he hits up Amigo's even if it’s just so you can see all the people from high school who you have added to your facebook.

Peace.
